Intelligent MMORPG/Virtual World Foundation Development with Project Agnostic Tool Development

Icarus Studios LLC has been working on a seemingly intelligent business plan for the future of mmorpg development as we know it. They have developed a project agnostic toolset that aids in the creation of mmorpgs, cutting out a lot of the financial overhead and development pipe-line man hours that many studios get bogged down in. Several of us crusty mmorpg developers have been preaching the benefits of creating such a toolset for quite some time yet many studios still develop project specific tools and pipelines, which in turn results in inflated budgets and development times.
Icarus Studios has also made the intelligent decision to license out their toolset, and branch their own mmorpg Fallen Earth into a sister company called Fallen Earth LLC.
Forward thinking development studios such as Icarus that are intent on lowering development costs and time may allow the traditional “Big MMORPG” genre to survive.
